Anyone who has ever read my blog knows that I have a deep-seated, long-lived, would stab a kitten if someone told me they didn’t like the show, sort of love for a little television program called….
THE WEST WING.
Friends have even called my addiction to the show unhealthy.
Besides being the greatest show on television in terms of *casting, The West Wing has the ability to make you laugh, cry, swoon, swear and most importantly (and most cheesy)- it will make you hope.
I told you it was cheesy.
But it will make you hope. And you will watch it and believe again in big things and good people. You will learn more about politics in one episode than you ever did in high school but by people who look like this:

The people who have experience this show, they are addicted- almost to the point of embarrassed with their infatuation. It’s like being an intellectual Justin Bieber fan but instead of collecting posters and copying dance moves, you are reciting quotes that make your heart do a keg stand of happiness while staring at a buff, passionate, Josh Lyman.
At #BiSC- Katelin introduced me to her awesome husband Matt who she had said ‘watched the show’. Seven seconds into the conversation, Matt and I both admitted we loved the commentary and I gave **Katelin the thumbs up- she had married a good man. Because anyone who watches The West Wing commentary is someone who is good people.
When Ameena tweeted that Amazon was having an amazing sale on the ENTIRE West Wing series, I really didn’t even think. I just knew, I needed to buy the entire thing. Immediately. So I did. And now, because I already own the series, I’m going to be changing the life of one lucky winner!

My favorite show right now is Mad Men. The husband and I have been Netflixing the shit out of it, and have watched the first three seasons within the last couple months. We’re bound to run out of episodes eventually… and I’d love to find another show to lose myself in! Also, I’ve never seen one single episode of The West Wing and please don’t hate me for that.

Although, I’m not sure I can pick a favorite tv show. My love tends to burn bright and hot, until cancellation and then I move on to other obsessions. But if I must try, I”ll do a three way tie of Alias, Lost & Battlestar Gallactica. Ask me tomorrow and I’ll probably tell you something different though.

West Wing is one of my favorite all time shows, so of course I want to win. I don’t have any current favorites because we’re currently living overseas and tv access sort of stinks. The biggest mistake I have made in the year two thousand and eleven is not seizing that amazon deal. i have failed you. I am really upset it is taking me so long to get through the West Wing. I need the complete series. I promise you they will go to a good home. My favorite TV show of ever is probably Friends. But also Friday Night Lights. Modern Family is my absolute favourite show these days. Basically my entire week builds up to Wednesdays, then I spend the next week starting every story with, “Did you see on Modern Family….”
Yes, this is the best post ever. I know I told you this in a tweet but I just started watching The West Wing and I’m only on season 3. Slow goings b/c of having a baby and borrowing the seasons long distance. But I LOVE IT. My favorite thing so far has been when Danny misunderstands Josh about CJ liking goldfish and he gets her an ACTUAL goldfish. I died.
I’m trying to think about my fave show as nothing I’ve ever watched will compare to your level or adoration for this show. Currently I live for The Vampire Diaries, but mostly b/c its vibe is very old school WB and I am perpetually a teenager.

That edition of TWW is so drool worthy, I have no words. It is, without a doubt, one of my very favorite shows as well. Quotable, engaging, all the things you mentioned, especially hopeful. It’s like brewing hope, watching that show.
If I had to pick just one, just one favorite show, I doubt I could: I am bad at decision making, and narrowing my whole life long addiction to television to one show would be near to impossible. But for the purposes of this best ever post, I’m going to go with the nostalgia of The Incredible Hulk. It was a show my family watched together, my parents and older brother sitting on the couch, me cringing in fear behind it every time the poor doctor’s eyes started turning green. I’ve been rewatching them lately, on some local channel, and they’re still enjoyable, even though I’m not as terrified of Lou Ferrigno as I once was.

I think my favorite television show during childhood was Moonlighting. I used to love watching it with my family as a kid and remember talking about it at school the next day with my friends. Bruce Willis was funny and reminded me of my friend David.
Though, I’ll never pass up a Law & Order when I am somewhere with cable, I think the best shows of college/adulthood were X FIles, Freaks and Geeks, Spaced and Arrested Development.

Ack! Love it! My old roommate was the BIGGEST fan, and I have only watched a few episodes. However, I have a feeling in my heart that both W and I will love this show once we actually sit down and watch it.
So my all-time favorite TV show? It’s kind of embarrassing… but I absolutely ADORE Roswell. Not that it was stellar, but I really related to the characters when I was in high school, and in looking back, that’s all I remember.

I grew up with no tv and subsequently missed pretty much every great television show – EVARRR. Until Netflix.
Then I thought I’d give The West Wing a whirl since I was really, really bummed about work which is also politics which really suck in the US right now. But it’s great to be able to come home every other night to a new DVD of four new episodes.
So if you’ll excuse me, I’ve gotta go watch Season 6: Disc 2 this evening and find out just how much of a badass CoS CJ is.

Favorite TV show of all-time, EVER? Such a hard decision to make because I, like you, LOVE The West Wing (and also Arrested Development and Alias and Pushing Daisies, and Community makes me laugh harder than I think maybe I’ve ever laughed), but I’m going to have to say #1 of all-time goes to…ass-kicking drumroll please…Buffy. Because, oh how I adore that series from start to finish and every episode in between.
Favorite movie of all-time is also insanely difficult for me because I probably have at least ten I would HAVE to take with me were I forced to occupy a deserted island. But we’ll say 10 Things I Hate About You for sheer quotability and JGL factor.

Absolutely no question, The West Wing is my favorite. From “Bring me the finest muffins and bagels in all the land,” to “I’m just…I’m just going to take that crab puff,” from “If you were in an accident, I wouldn’t stop for red lights,” to “Josh Lyman is gesticulating wildly,” it’s just brilliant. Yes, even after Sorkin left. (Also, President Bartlett on painkillers and CJ post-root canal.)
I do like Firefly too, but that was sold to me (somewhat fittingly) as “The West Wing in space.”

AWESOME giveaway!!! I’ve been slowly working my way through West Wing via Netflix, but the mail is just too slow some days! Oh how I wish it were streaming. I don’t know if I could possibly pick just one favorite show, but the one that never fails to cheer me up is Arrested Development and I still get sucked into Alias whenever I put in the DVDs!

Favorite TV show of all time? Why did you have to pick such a hard question?!?! I’ll have to go with Buffy or Criminal Minds, although there are countless others I could include here.

My favorite movie of all time is, and I know I’m not alone in this, The Princess Bride.
I really need to own this series. It is one of a very few shows that I actually miss the presence of on the airwaves. Which never used to be a problem, since Bravo ran it all the time for quite a while. Andy Cohen has since forsaken me with the Real Housewives franchise though, and now there remains a dearth of Josh Lyman & Donatella Moss in my life. This really is the best contest ever!

Oh my, that picture of Brad and Janel is one of my favorite and I practically split my face smiling at it. This is clearly one of the best shows ever. I already have the set, it was my Christmas present last year, but like you said, entering to possibly pass on the glory to someone who doesn’t yet know.
My favorite tv show changes every other day of the week. For Comedy I’ll say The Middle, and Drama I’ll go with The Good Wife. At least that’s on right now… this is a complicated, emotional question for me.
