Oh, and I really want this.

As you can see, the holiday spirit has snuck up on me and firmly implanted itself somewhere in close vicinity to my heart (and if that isn’t the cheeriest holiday sentence ever, I don’t know what is). Anyway, you know how I was making Christmas cards? Yeah. I needed to make 40, but due to an extreme love of paper products and wine (have you ever had a card making party where you consumed a few bottles of red while crafting your holiday cheer to paper? You should. IMMEDIATELY.), I have extra. If you would like a card created by yours truly while she sipped a cheap bottle of vino and tried to out sing Bing- let me know.

Wait,- that’s not how we should do this. You shouldn’t be able to just say ” I want a card”, when I sweated cheap wine and bled crimson for these cards (papercuts? yes. I have them. My fingers look like I shook hands with Edward Scissorhands). I’m thinking if you want a card you need to take one line from the song and substitute in your own wish (you can email me your address). Do that, and you shall receive a bloody, ink stained, wine-smelling, handmade piece of awesome mailed directly to your home. Also, if you don’t want a card, I won’t be offended. I just probably will never want to talk to you again.

Happy Holidays!

Ohh, I’m the first commenter! That makes a change, given that of late I’m too lazy to even update my own blog let alone comment on someone elses.

Thats a fabulous list of gifts. I too lust after the Kitchen Aid mixer, I keep thinking about getting one and then other things – lipglosses and shoes – get in my budgetary way and I never do.

A blood stained card sounds like a lovely idea, but I wouldn’t want you to send it all the way over here. Could you take me a picture?

2. egan - December 9, 2007

On the sixth day of Christmas my true love sent to me:
six hours of sleeping
fiiiivvveeeee goldeeennnn rings,
four lipgloss kits,
three French men,
two cute shoes
and a pretty red kitchen aid mixer

I really want something with your blood, sweat, and tears on it.

3. Julie Q - December 9, 2007

omg i might have to “borrow” this post! Thanks :) maybe i want all your gifts too! except i like Italian men- what hot hollywood actor is french? i can’t think of any this second. (all that pops into my head is gerard depardui)- oh and i’m emailing you a party punch recipe..

4. Lisa - December 9, 2007

I especially like the 12 jars for scrubbing!

Really unique format though for a wishlist! Cute!

5. brookem - December 9, 2007

I love love this list. Me thinks we’re already swapping cards, but I will do this because it’s fun, and also might steal this post one of these days!

On the sixth day of Christmas my HOH sent to me…
6 tickets to Miami!

(I don’t know how to do the linky thing, so here—>http://blog.busbank.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/miami.jpg, is a nice picture for you).

PS- You will absolutely love the SATC dvd’s. One of the best gifts EVER. xo

6. brandy - December 9, 2007

Beth- Yep, those mixers are expensive. So are most things one wants for a kitchen I’m learning. I liked the fridge Oprah had on her ‘favourite things’ episode but the idea of spending more on a fridge than I did in tuition for a year seems sort of… hard for me to grasp.

egan- I’m giggling thinking about how I really hyped up these cards and then talked about how they are bloodstained. Like that’s a big draw. In all honesty, there is no blood on the cards. Maybe a few wine spills, but I think that adds character. And I like yours. Seems fitting for a new parent.

Julie Q- Oliver Martinez. Truthfully, he was the only one I could find so I’m thinking I could have him, and he must have two cute brothers, or friends.

Lisa- It helped me really break down what I wanted. I’m thinking I can live without a lot of these but the cashmere sweater must be bought.

brookem- Ahh good gift choice! I considered a trip but couldn’t decide where I wanted to go, then got WAY too excited planning it, then got depressed realizing I wasn’t REALLY going anywhere. As for the DVD’s, I already have them but I bought each season individually and now the plastic cases are cracking. I want the pink case that holds them all! (Is this greedy to ask for something I already own? I would donate my old ones to a friend in need…)

7. egan - December 9, 2007

Wine = blood right? Sleep is at a premium these days as we’re working some new sleep routines with her. You’ve done a great job with the hype and yes, I still want one. I love getting stuff from you. Speaking of that, our little girl is almost ready to wear her Roots shirt.

8. Bre - December 9, 2007

Hmmm I’ll take it all! :)

9. Maggie - December 9, 2007

I love your song – and yay for you for card making! I always love it at the beginning, but once I get at about card 90 I start losing steam fast!

Be sure to post a picture so that we can all revel in your creative genius!

10. nicoleantoinette - December 9, 2007

Dear whoever is sending you these things-

Please add me onto the list too. Especially for the Victoria’s Secret items. Oh, and instead of the red kitchen aid mixer (which I already have), I’d like a Breville Immersion Blender.

Please.

xoxo
nicole

11. justrun - December 9, 2007

Okay, if your true love gave you NINE cashmere sweaters and a Kitchen Aid, well your true love really deserves to get lucky. :)

And I’m afraid to say I’d love to see a card but I don’t want to cause any more bodily injury (i.e. paper cuts).

12. semichrmd - December 9, 2007

yay! I love this post – can I just say kitchen aid mixer….one of the best gifts my husband ever gave me (well, almost!). Here s one to add to the list:

On the third day of christmas my true love gave to me:
Sandra Ugg Wedge Boots for VS – I am with brookem, don’t know how to do links but here it is:

http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application?namespace=moreInfo&prnbr=3G-213422&cgnbr=OSSHUDESUGG&moreInfoInd=largeView&dispMode=STANDARD&buttonClicked=btn_lg_view&selColor=

13. Teri - December 9, 2007

Miu Miu shoes – seriously good take.

I want 2 boys a sleeping (that may sound dirty, but just want my kids to go to sleep).
T.

14. Airam - December 9, 2007

I did one of these 12 days of Christmas thingies last year but I like yours much better!

On the 12th day of Christmas my gold card gave to me … 12 Chapters gift cards!

Gotta love those.

15. aRbit - December 9, 2007

On the fourth day of Christmas my true love sent to me:
four places to visit (http://mauriclick.com/mauritius/airport_transfers/sightseeing_tours_curepipe_Chamarel.htm)
three French men
two cute shoes
and a Christmas card from Brandy (pretty please?)

16. brandy - December 9, 2007

egan- And once she can wear it, you just need to dunk her head in a Canadian beer (I like kokanee) and give her a beaver tail and the ‘honorary Canadian’ process will be complete. Everyone wins.

Bre- I thought you would…

Maggie- I will work on the photos. As some of the old readers know, I’m pretty horrible with posting stuff. I think so far I’ve posted a photo of my shoe, a puppy and Justin Timberlake. Ahh. What that says about me… oh so much.

Nicole- You already have the mixer? I knew I liked you for a reason!

justrun- I’m thinking I really do have to get myself one of the cashmere sweaters that I linked to. It just.. makes sense.I can’t decide on a color though. I may actually do a vote on the blog to help me decide. The blue is nice that the model wears, but maybe I should get black? It goes with more things… oh choices, choices…

semichrmd- AHhh the Ugg. I’m with you on wanting more. In fact, Jamie from Oh, How Lovely wrote a post where I discussed my love of the Ugg in a mostly anti- Ugg world. It’s a good read if you haven’t checked it out! (her post, not my comment. My comment is lame).

Teri- Maybe give them each a bottle of Scotch and put on some Bing Crosby. Works for me everytime. :)

Airam- I was JUST saying tonight that I would like Chapters gift cards. I see at chapters.ca that the Jon Stewart book is on sale for like $10. I had it, but it was ruined in the house fire incident of 2005. Definitely worth re-buying though. And I like the really nice Chapters that have the fancy journals and home decor stuff in them. It makes me want to put all my things in nicely labeled boxes and begin writing all my thoughts in a journal and skip the blog.

aRbit- Ask and ye shall receive! (Wow. I’m pulling out all the stops tonight). Anyway, expect your card soon!!

17. Renee - December 9, 2007

I’d definitely take 9 of those cashmere sweaters. One in every color, please!!

On the 12th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…
My own season of my own show on the Travel Channel! (that’s 12 episodes)

18. Elisabeth - December 9, 2007

I love it, I want to use it as a meme, but not without your permission.

19. geekhiker - December 9, 2007

I’m kinda jealous. As we get closer and closer to the actual holiday, the constant marketing push starts to wear on me and my holiday spirit starts to dissipate a bit. I hope I can find something like you did to make your inner Grinch go away…

20. brandy - December 9, 2007

Renee- I know! Isn’t is the greatest?? I really had a hard time deciding which one to go with, but I’m liking the one I picked. Now I just need to decide on a color. Because yes, I’ve decided that I’m not waiting for a true love. I’m buying this one for myself.

Elisabeth- Go ahead! It’s fun, but honestly… it took me awhile. And I had the damn song stuck in my head the whole time. :)

geekhiker- See, I’m the other way. I’m slow getting on the Christmas badnwagon but once I’m on, I’m on! Seriously though, I think it was a mix of things- I’ve stayed clear of the mall, have done baking/decorating and have spent a lot of time making Christmas cards. I also started volunteering and being around people less fortunate really makes me feel thankful for what I have. And feeling thankful always makes me think of Christmas (even more so than Thanksgiving, probably because during thanksgiving I’m just thinking about gluten free stuffing). Anyway… I’m hoping that you find a way to get into the Christmas mood. Maybe rent “It’s a Wonderful life” and eat a candy cane?

21. alyndabear - December 10, 2007

This post was so wonderful, that I think I’m going to have to steal it and do my own one. :D

22. anne - December 10, 2007

brandy – lovely list! i’ll take one of everything. but really just the stand mixer if anyone is asking. and i would LOVE a card!

23. Ruby - December 10, 2007

That is a great list of essentials, not even wants, those are all reasonable request esp the kitchenaid mixer! It will change your life! Those three French men? I’d insist they be designers and able to keep you dressed and shod like a duchess! A fashionable duchess, not an old snobby one. I would totally love a card but only if you have extras after everyone else’s requests.

24. pam - December 10, 2007

OH…you had me at the KitchenAid Mixer! Awesome list!

25. Miriam D - December 10, 2007

I am pining after that red Kitchen Aid mixer. Yes, I already have one, but IT IS NOT RED. And clearly, it needs to be red.

26. tori - December 10, 2007

I want a card! And I also need your address so I can send you a card. Email me please!

27. brookem - December 10, 2007

yes, the pink velvet-like case! i love it so. it’s not greedy to want that. is it weird then, that i display it (proudly) on our coffee table? it’s so pretty and i love the shade of pink, and just looking at it makes me happy. i cant think of a reason to NOT want that set.

28. Kathryn - December 10, 2007

would LOVE one of your cards!! so I offer:

On the seventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me,
seven Gilmore seasons (can’t figure out the linky thing, so: httpp://www.amazon.ca/gilmore-girls-the-complete-series/dp/booouof7hrg),
six seasons of watching
fiiiivvveeeee goldeeennnn rings,
four lipgloss kits,
three French men,
two cute shoes
and a pretty red kitchen aid mixer

29. mcgee - December 10, 2007

this was a fantastic way to post your wish list!!

as for me, i’m totally with you on the kitchen aid mixer. i’ve been longing for one for ages, but they’re so damn expensive! plus my kitchen is tiny so i don’t even know where i’d put it. but someday…someday…

30. egan - December 10, 2007

Kokanee and Big White… oh the memories. I was going to put the shirt on her today, but it’s still a bit big for her. Maybe it will fit her in Q2 of next year.

31. Sarah - December 10, 2007

On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me
*five diamond rings
*four wii games
*three hours for reading (no link for that!)
*two gigs of memory
*one wii to call my own

*kay, so I made up my own rules and put in FIVE wishes, but hey, breaking the rules is what makes life interesting (I really should apply that to other areas of my life than commenting on blogs…).

32. Jennifer - December 10, 2007

I want those things, too!! Weird that we have the EXACT SAME list.

33. Princess Extraoridinaire - December 10, 2007

I definitely think you’re got a touch of the Christmas spirit in you – very creative sing-a-long – which is whay it became in my head and now I am sure I will humming it all day!

on the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me some bling bling in a blue box…

34. justrun - December 10, 2007

Just to throw another into the mix, I have a gray (grey?) cashmere sweater that I love, FYI. Goes with everything, but not black. :)

35. brandy - December 10, 2007

Alyndabear- Steal away. It’s fun to go ’shopping’ with an unlimited budget. I mean, who doesn’t need more Tiffany rings and $500 kitchen appliances? Have fun!

Anne- I’m glad you liked the list! Annd more importantly, glad you are back!!

Ruby- I like your thinking. Maybe Oliver and two designers. Ohh.. Karl Lagerfeld would be great mostly because I think he’s completely insane. He’s french isn’t he? I’m going to email you today…

pam- Isn’t it just one of the greatest things ever? I was going to put this washer on the list too, but I only need one washer, so I had to chose between one washer or one kitchen aid mixer. I went with the mixer. (obviously!)

Miriam D- I love that you want one because you don’t have it in the color you want, but I do understand that. I think I would like it in green though too. Or the black. The black would be nice. Santa, are you listening?

Tori- I will email you!

brookem- Oh friend. Why didn’t I wait and get the pink case? I was greedy. I bought the seasons as they came out when they were like $68 a season. Now the lame ass plastic packaging is all ripped. It breaks my heart to know that your case was cheaper to buy than mine. Why must the universe be so cruel?

Kathryn- Awesome! I need your address for the card though. Also, I don’t know how the link thing works in comments either. I wonder, does anyone?

mcgee- Yeah! It’s silly how expensive they are. I think nothing in the world should be more than $300. I’ve just randomly come up with that idea and will stick by it for the rest of my life. Chip and Pepper jeans shouldn’t cost more than $20. Wow. If we lived that way, Wal-mart would be a dollar store. Now I’m dreaming….

egan- Fingers crossed. And you had kokanee memories? That almost feels like you are invading my past by saying that. Kokanee is one of the few things that clearly defines my young adult life. That, and a string of bad dates. Oy.

Jennifer- It IS weird. It would be even weirder if I had two children, a husband and lived in Alabama… then we would officially be twins I think.

PE- Well done! And I got your email. Expect a card!!

justrun- Ohh grey you say? Now I’m torn. Honestly. I think this cashmere sweater dilemma is going to have to be it’s own post.

36. Becky - December 10, 2007

i like this, this is an awesome wish list format!! lol I may have to make up my own song!!
This is just really amusing!

hey you should see these awesome holiday video cartoon cards!!!

37. Teri - December 10, 2007

Thanks for the advice – they slept like babies….

38. emmaenlighted - December 10, 2007

ohhhh, I love cashmere! and lipgloss. good list, girl!
P.S. yes you may update your blog with the new address, no problemo! ; )

39. metafour - December 10, 2007

Dear Pathetic Leftist Spinster,

This comment has nothing to do with this post but I’m lazy and I just had to say your piece on IB today was awesome. I get so upset when I can’t find something I’m looking for too. Such brilliant imagery.

Take care and continue writing good stuff so I have cool stuff to read instead of doing what I should be doing.

40. Princess Pointful - December 10, 2007

Um… yes please.
And thank you.

I enjoy wrapping too much for someone who is pitifully poor at it… red wine would comically enhance that!

41. Jamie - December 10, 2007

I’d love one but I’m probably way too late! I will send you one though anyway if you would like :)

42. B - December 10, 2007

gimme one and in your honour I will blog it

Have a great week Brandy!

43. appletini - December 10, 2007

When you’re done with the eight maids a cleaning…send them over to my house, pleeeeeeaze :)

44. brandy - December 10, 2007

Becky- Thanks for stopping by. I plan on checking out the link you sent.

Teri- Anytime friend, anytime. Scotch pretty much clears everything in books.

emmaenlighted- How can you not love cashmere? It’s like, heaven in a sweater. And I will update the blog!

metafour- ;) Thanks for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

PP- Ahhh I love wrapping too. I’m a big fan of brown paper packages tied up with very expensive and pretty ribbon.

Jamie- Never too late. Send your address and you shall receive!

B- You too! Annnd if you want a card I need your address.

45. Shannon - December 11, 2007

So inventive!
I think I want me a christmas card :-)

Five good books

46. brandy - December 11, 2007

Shannon- Well put! And I got your address so you shall be getting a card! And if you find two pretty nailpolish colors, tell me. I’m looking for some new shades.

47. Michelle and the City - December 12, 2007

what a great idea for a post! love it :)
