Justin, Tiffany and 4 skeptics with good seats September 19, 2007

Posted by brandy in music, what the hell.
trackback

Okay, so I know I went to the Justin concert awhile ago. Like… almost a month ago. And I know I said I would put a picture (and only one, because let’s not get crazy here) up. But keep in mind, I’m a) a procrastinator and b) horrible at putting photos up. And because I know some computer savvy person is going to ask, I’m slow at putting photos up because after figuring out how to do it, my brain is so exhausted I spend the next three days in a black room, sleeping away the pain that comes with not understanding all the power that is inside my keyboard.

However.

You all have been so darn nice lately and have been so supportive, that I felt like I really needed to get on this. I mean, you all even left nice comments on a post where I said I got a job, which (I know from experience) is tricky because other than “Congrats!”, it’s hard to think of something original to say. But you all did, thus you deserve a reward (Because yes, I think that’s the proper way to reward people, photos of Justin Timberlake). Anyway, here is the best photo of the bunch, THAT. I. TOOK. (And yes, the capitals are supposed to illustrate how proud I am of this photo, didn’t I just capture it?)

justin-timberlake.jpg

And here is a photo that I have to include because it has a story.
justin-and-crazy.jpg

This girl, is not me. I promise. During the encore, she sort of… crept up on stage out of nowhere. It was the strangest thing. She didn’t attack Justin, I don’t even think she thought she would make it as far as she did. Anyway, she gets up on stage, and suddenly Justin stops playing the piano and asks her who she is. She of course yells out “TIFFANY!” and the crowd cheers. Justin tells her that she a) is crazy and b) scared the hell out of him. Security has now stepped on stage, but Justin allows this girl to stay, but forces her to sing the end of his song. She makes him play the ending twice because she’s so nervous and forgets to sing the first time.

She sings her lines, the is told she has to go. She asks Justin if she can stay (she had brought her bag because she thought she would get kicked out), and he lets her. Because he’s charming like that.

Of course, my friends and I are cynical of such happenings and suspect that this has been ’set-up’. We ask around to friends who’ve gone to other concerts across Canada (because us Justin followers have a wide web that spans not just the city, but the entire country), and it turns out no one else has stormed the stage. So, in a single night we watched a fantastic concert (because yes, I can say- even though I don’t own a JT CD and was never a HUGE fan, it was a fantastic concert) and the complete breakdown of security.

All in all, it was sweet.

Brandy that’s a pretty cool story there. I’m not a huge fan of his music, but I admire how he treats his fans. That was a very smooth move on his part, the handling of the rabin woman.

Your first picture of him looks like Morrissey.

P.S. congrats!

2. egan - September 19, 2007

Rabid, not rabin. Maybe I can use rabin in Scrabble.

3. Michael C - September 19, 2007

Sounds like a great time. You will now commence to hating on me, but I really don’t listen to him. Kudos for not having blondie yanked off the stage though!!!! I don’t think Barry Manilow or even Kenny would have been as nice…

4. brookem - September 19, 2007

oh how friendly of jt to go out of his way and let tiffany stay up there.
and you my friend, are not the only one unsavvy with the picture uploading/adding/linking, etc. i find for me, it leads me to need a cocktail or three. not that i need an excuse to get soused, but that will sure lead me in the right direction.

5. brandy - September 19, 2007

Egan- If the ‘other’ word worked in Scrabble, I’m sure rabid might. And yes, I’m too scared to write it on here. What if wordpress disowns me? As for JT, I know what you are saying. I thought how he treated the scary girl was very respectable. And if you keep saying ‘congrats!’, I will be forced to beat you at Scrabble. Oh… wait… I’m already doing that. (And yes, that’s as aggressive as my smack talk gets.)

MC- Hmm… I don’t hate because of music tastes. Really, I’m too lazy. And I like to think Kenny would be as kind. Maybe he would even ask her to a duet of “Islands in the Stream”. Ohhh what fun!

brookem- I’m glad I’m not alone. In not needing a reason for a drink, or not being able to upload pictures in a split second. I’m far too busy raging at Tyra. Or Spencer. Or the Telus phone company. Dear God! I need to get a hold of my rage.

6. brookem - September 19, 2007

brandylicious, im waiting for these said juicy updates of yours! here we are again with the conversing via-our-comments. gotta love it. cheers!

7. Lefty - September 19, 2007

That is a pretty good shot of Justin. (And who is Justin again? Is he the one with the wild orange hair who does the 1-800-collect commercials? Or the one who got caught in the airport bathroom soliciting gay sex?)

8. armalicious - September 19, 2007

That’s great that you got a photo of that!! Excellent story, too.

And sometimes you have to wait awhile before sharing big events like this. You have to be able to digest it all first! Thanks for sharing all the same!

9. Bre - September 19, 2007

That is so very very very odd! Who just does that?!

10. Airam - September 19, 2007

Congratulations on the job! Glad you enjoyed the JT concert!

11. appletini - September 19, 2007

I am not a fan of JT, not even a little bit; but I have heard that he can ROCK the concert biz.

12. Cheryl - September 19, 2007

Wow, that’s kind of bizarre. I have to say, I would be right there with you and your friends wondering if it had been staged.

13. Jacinta - September 19, 2007

Love the pic of JT. Very moody. Seems to catch the atmosphere well - even though I wasn’t there of course! … and what a great story. I would have thought it was a set-up too.

Oh - and congratulations by the way - not just on your win over technology (which is always worth celebrating), but especially the new job. Looking forward to the update.

14. Princess Pointful - September 19, 2007

When you said “Tiffany”, I thought you meant the Tiffany of my youth. I think we’re alone now Tiffany.
But, alas, the girl in the photo is a blond, not a red head, so no 80s revival duet for me.

15. ~t~ - September 20, 2007

LOVE IT! Next time prepare me and we can rock out the concert together. I love you and I am very happy that you took the job. I want to come and visit…

16. Brillig - September 20, 2007

Okay. Hi. That JT picture? AWESOME!!!

17. Peter - September 20, 2007

That is weird? Blonde chicks sneak up on me and join me in whatever I am doing all the time.

Also, that first photo IS great. Nice work!

18. onebigholiday - September 20, 2007

That is really weird…

19. justrun - September 20, 2007

Those are some swell photo-taking skills, girl!

And though I’m not a Justin fan either, I am betting the live show was good.

20. Aaron - September 20, 2007

That’s great. That reminds me of the women trying to grope Keith Urban’s leg at his Atlanta concert. One woman just wouldn’t stop and he just about had to kick her in the head to get her arm off his leg. Gotta give it to him, though.. he kept on playing.

21. wolf - September 20, 2007

I’m left wondering: d’ya think he fired his security guards after the concert? Good story and I’m glad you enjoyed the concert, even though I freely admit that JT makes me itch.

22. tori - September 20, 2007

Your picture is so awesome! I love the story that goes along with it all. And I seem to have missed the previous post saying you got the job, so congratulations even though I am a little late!

23. Clearlykels - September 20, 2007

Oh, wow, I can’t believe that girl did that. Also, she shouted her name… I guess that is to be expected.

24. sue - September 20, 2007

Great photos!

I’m surprised he (and security) allowed her to stay. Wouldn’t that just encourage others to try the same thing? Hmmm…

25. themikestand - September 20, 2007

Seems to me that “storming” the stage would involve more action, more activity. Possibly the breaking of a sweat, or some threat of harm (or maybe just furious jazz hands). This incident seems less like a storm, more like a shower. Or a drizzle. “She drizzled the stage.” People are sure to be grossed out. Or think I’m talking about Britney, maybe. (Okay, shutting up now.)

26. HippieChyck - September 20, 2007

hmmm. so what you’re saying is that that could have been me up there on the piano bench. good to know, good to know.

27. a life uncommon - September 20, 2007

What a crazy girl… can’t believe he let her stay up there with him!! Such a sweet heart he is…

28. Jennifer - September 20, 2007

I’ve got his concert recorded on DVR, can’t wait to watch!

Congrats on the job. I’m really happy for you!

29. Rosanna - September 20, 2007

Justin Timberlake is so hot. Seriously.

30. brother#3 - September 20, 2007

It would have been so cool if they would have broken into “Dancing in the Dark”!

31. semichrmd - September 20, 2007

Finally - pics! The first one is brilliant, sounds like you had a great time (maybe not as good as Tanya, but hey who’s keeping track?) I have to say I too was never a huge fan of JT but lately have come to appreciate him, did you see him on Oprah? Seems like a classy guy.

32. Ruby - September 20, 2007

I wonder if any of his security team got fired after? I can’t believe she just “stormed the stage”!!! Nice of him to let her stay though. Great picture taking/uploading-ness! I’m with brookem on the uploading.

33. Bungi - September 21, 2007

You really did the pictures?! No no! I don’t mean to sound like i doubt you. I just meant to say that they are great! :P

34. Michelle - September 21, 2007

man that girl has some balls, seriously!

35. Chica - September 21, 2007

Whoa, how close were you to JT those pics are great?! If I’d been able to take a pic of Beyonce when I went to see her she would have been a tiny besequinned dot on a blurry background. Kudos! x

36. B - September 22, 2007

you don’t need to own a cd that’s what limewire is for. and I still think it was staged. I still can’t believe I missed him in Toronto last month. actually I don’t like him as much as I use to. but I wouldn’t kick him out of my bed just yet! ;)

37. Katrin - September 23, 2007

Thankyouthankyouthankyou! I love Justin - but I am way too stingy to pay for the overpriced tickets. I do like Tiffany’s guts and her bag. Good for the girl!
P.S.: Good picture! You are fully entitled to the bolds.

38. sanyukta - September 23, 2007

hey brandy.

cool blog, yours. :)
sorry for the totally unrelated-to-post comment, but i just can’t resist askin’ : what is the source of the pic at the top of the page?

39. WLFG - September 24, 2007

My cousin went to the TO concert, and reported no such happenings… awesome pictures, though.

40. armalicious - September 24, 2007

Just thinking about you and thought I’d say HI! Hope all is well on the job/moving front!

41. brandy - September 24, 2007

Jacinta- Oh thanks for the kind words lady. Glad you like the photo!

brookem- I know!!

Lefty- Ahh, you’re lucky you said this to me and not some crazed fan. I suspect there would be some harsh words being shared otherwise! Oh, and isn’t he the one who wanted to go into outer space? No wait, that’s the other one…

Armalicious- Can I just say that I loved that you gave me a justification for not posting sooner about it? That’s another reason why I like you so much lady!

Bre- Other than girls named Tiffany and maybe HippieChyck? I’m not sure…. :)

Airam- Thanks lady!

appletini- That he did lady, that he did!

Cheryl- Yes, I think my friends and I were normal to second guess it, even when the masses weren’t- but now I’m pretty convinced that it wasn’t staged and that some girls really have balls.

PP- I think if Tiffany as in THE Tiffany would have shown up, I might have peed my pants.

t- I want you to come visit too. But I have another plan. That I will be calling you about….

Brillig- Thanks!!! After I saw how great it turned out, I started calling myself Annie Lebowitz. Then I took four photos where I forgot the flash and stopped talking.

Peter- Really? Blonde girls just join you in doing whatever you are doing? That IS weird. Do they join you when you are playing the piano in a three piece suit? Because if you started doing that, I think I might join you too.

onebigholiday- It was!

justrun- I know what you are saying, and it was a good concert. Like I said before, I don’t own a CD, don’t know the words to all his songs, (just the ones that get played on the radio every 2.3 seconds), but it was awesome for the dancing. The show of it all, was impressive.

Aaron- I don’t understand the wanting to touch a celebrity. I think I would just feel silly. Like, now my hand is on his leg… now what? What is going to happen then??

wolf- I understand the JT feeling. I feel that most people really love him, or can’t stand him. I’ve been on both sides of the fence but the concert brought me back. As for his security, something would have had to happen, obviously someone messed up.

Tori- Oh thanks lady!! I’m trying to take more photos but I’m a bit of perfectionist so end up just deleting a lot…

Clearlykels- Yes, this girl was EXCITED to be there. But very shy when she had to sing for the crowd.

Sue- Totally! I think Hippie and I are on the same page as you!

themikestand- Exactly. She sort of slinked on stage… it was very bizarre actually.I really do think she was shocked herself when she got right beside him before all the security came on the stage. Ahh, some girls have all the luck.

HC- I think that’s EXACTLY what a stadium filled with girls was thinking afterwards! If only we had known we weren’t going to get thrown out I think there would have been a few more girls attempting to sneak up there!

A life uncommon- Yep, letting her stay was great. And I loved that he made her sing for the crowd. She freaked out a bit and was like ‘I can’t sing!’ and he said something a long the lines of ‘you should have thought of that before you came on stage’. It was great.

Jennifer- Enjoy! The dancing is insane!

Rosanna- I never loved him until I saw him dancing in a three piece suit. That altered things a bit. I’m sort of planning the wedding now. I just have to tell him.

brother #3- Or if they would have done the footloose dance. I would have loved that.

Semichrmd- I only saw him when he was singing with Reba on Oprah (which I didn’t really enjoy), but I’ve heard that he gave a great interview.

Ruby- Thanks lady! Yeah, I can’t believe she stormed the stage either. It was a bit crazy to watch.

Bungi- Ahh thanks for the vote of confidence lady! :)

Michelle- I know!

Chica- There was some zoom lens involved, we weren’t THAT close. As for Beyonce, I never really wanted to see her before but I heard her show is amazing.

B- Hmm, I don’t know about it being staged. There was actual fear in his voice when he spoke, but I can see why people would think that- I know I did. And I’m glad you are still at a point where you would let JT snuggle with you.

Katrin- Your welcome! If you pay money to join the fan club (which I DIDN’T but my friend did), you can get your tickets in advance to get a better seat, which was great. But yes, I understand not wanting to pay so much for a ticket. Ticket prices are nuts!

sanyukta- It’s from Getty Images in the royalty free section. No worries about asking!

WLFG- Which further confirms my theory that there was just crazy people at my concert! Well, JT’s concert that I attended. You know what I mean.

42. CableGirl - September 27, 2007

hehe. I never would have guessed you are a JT fan. lmao

43. Miss Pickle - January 22, 2008

Oh how I wished with every fibre of my being that I was that girl when she got up there. Lucky b*tch!
